Residency

The residency is reserved for holders of a recognised DVM who meet the requirements of the corresponding college (generally a minimum of two years' experience or an internship diploma).

Admission is by application and interview.

This is three years of full-time training in a specific clinical area, with preparation for the relevant European College examination.

It is possible to prepare a European 'board' at the same time.

If the successful candidate passes the examination of a European College recognised by the CNSV, he or she can claim the title of "Veterinary Specialist in...". Retention of this title is subject to re-certification every five years by the European College concerned.
