Supporting innovation from public research


PUIs are the result of a MESR call for proposals, financed by the French government as part of France 2030. They are operated by ANR and monitored by BPI France.

The PUI Nantes Université Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation (University Innovation Cluster) is a coordinating body set up by the key players in the Loire-Atlantique/Vendée region's innovation ecosystem, i.e. 17 establishments, with Nantes Université in the lead. The members of the PUI have come together to structure a public research-led approach to innovation, with the following ambitions:

  • Intensify actions to support innovation and its emergence.
  • Accelerate and increase the number of innovation projects emerging from research laboratories.
  • Strengthen the valorization of research results, the creation of start-ups and the development of collaborative projects with companies.

Structured around 5 innovation areas, the PUI Nantes Université has taken concrete action :

  • Schemes to support scientists' market potential.  
  • Programs specially designed for PhD students and young doctors,
  • Funding and support dedicated to the emergence of projects.
  • Structured coordination actions to facilitate the management and monitoring of innovative projects for the benefit of project leaders, scientists and researchers alike.
