France is one of the world's leading agricultural and food-processing nations. It has over 500,000 farms and more than 80,000 businesses in the agri-food sector. Half of its territory is farmland. This is a sector that generates real job prospects thanks to the diversity and quality of the training offered by French higher education in the fields of agriculture, agronomy, sustainable development, landscape planning and animal welfare.
